Psalm 37:4 – Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

What does it mean to take Delight in the Lord?

Genesis 18:3-8 is great example of what it means to delight in the Lord. In this portion of the bible, Abraham is sitting in the front of his tent catching sunrays when suddenly the Lord appears before him. Abraham quickly requested that the Lord stay and rest and to allow him to wash His feet. Abraham asked for nothing for himself. Once the Lord agreed, Abraham goes and prepares the best for the Lord. He found great delight in serving God. In verse 8, it says; “And he stood by them under the tree while they ate.”  He was awestruck and amazed to be able to serve the Lord.

Stop and think. When was the last time you took delight in the Lord? When was the last time you found pure pleasure in just being in His presence and serving Him?

Take time to Delight yourself in the Lord and just enjoy being in His presence.
