John 14:30-31 (NASB)

I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.

Jesus here is getting ready to face the darkest hour of His life, being beaten, the crucifixion and then separation from his Father. These were all new to Jesus, He had never faced anything like this before, even though He could have called down many angels to rescue Him but He was fixed on showing the World that He loved the Father, more than His own life.

Jesus knew that the ruler of this world had his part to play in all of this but was not concerned about him, He was only fixed on showing the World how much he loves the Father. He did all this for us!

As New Creations in Christ, we have been bought with a price, that price was with Jesus blood which was shed for us on Calvary! Now that we have this new life, Christ’s life, we are called to let Jesus life once again show the world how much He loves the Father.

Not fearing the ruler of this world because we understand, he has his part to play but reckoning ourselves buried with Christ and we are also raised to a newness of life, Christ as our Life. (Colossians 3:4 – When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.)

Therefore, let us go from here and live like New Creations!
