It has been said that “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” This quote sounds good and has probably helped many people

But

The focus of creating your own path is YOU! The truth of the matter is that you are to walk down the path God has for you. Any other path leads to self-glorification and Self-Righteousness.

John 8:54 – Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.

Psalm 16:11 – You will make known to me the path of life;

AND

Psalm 23:3 – He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

As we seek Him His Spirit will guide us:

John 16:13 – But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth

Here we see that the path that God leads us down is for His Name sake. We must not be fooled into thinking it is about US, for it never has been and never will be. It is all about Him!

We may not like the Path that God has us on but we must look to Him for guidance. Jesus at one point did not like the path that He was on but His main concern was that the Father be glorified.

Matthew 26:39b – “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

John 17:4 – I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do

May our hearts cry and our desire be to bring glory to our Heavenly Father and that is only done by allowing Christ to express His life in us, to us for the Father’s Glory.

John 15:8 – My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

You see

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

It is His life to be lived in us and it is His life that brings Glory to the Father. Whatever path He has you on, it’s end is for the Father to be glorified:

In speaking with Peter, Jesus has this to say to him.

John 21:19 – Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God.

The only Path that matters is the Path He has for you. Allow Him to bring you to that path and allow Him to direct you down the Path.

Hebrews 12:1-3 – So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us, looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting, Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Yes, think about him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you won’t grow tired or become despondent.

Blessing:
